During this one day onsite professional development session participants will fully examine the implications of Understanding by Design (UbD) within Miller & Levine Biology. Participants will enhance their understanding of UbD as well as deepen their understanding of the curriculum.
Learning Outcomes
After participating in this training participants will be able to do the following:
- Apply Understanding by Design (UbD) principles to increase teaching and learning effectiveness with Miller & Levine Biology
- Describe student outcomes in terms of facets of understanding
- Design questions that encourage enduring understanding for students
- Implement backward design principles to increase student learning
- Integrate key understandings into short-term and long-range planning
Prentice Hall Literature and Understanding by Design
During this one day onsite professional development session participants will fully examine the implications of Understanding by Design (UbD) within Prentice Hall Literature. Participants will enhance their understanding of UbD as well as deepen their understanding of the curriculum.
